My Personal Reinvention: Part 3 (of 3)
Friday, December 11th, 2009I am heading home now, having stayed an extra day. A perfect extra day. Thinking a lot, as usual, I sit quietly in the dark on the plane, wishing I could fall asleep. I am instead listening, in my head, to the voice of my mentor, Maryann. She is truly the woman who maintains my sanity. Truly maintains it. I happen to also be listening to the New York Dolls.

Uh Oh… No Time For an Injury
Sunday, November 8th, 2009I hurt my arm. My shoulder, actually. I mean really hurt it. I slipped down the stairs, on a normal morning (last Friday) and bam, an entire series of repercussions have appeared. I instinctively put my arm down to brace my fall and landed on it, straight down on my hand with my elbow locked. The culprit was a rather large duck — a dog toy that was on the staircase.

Lots of Book News
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009Earlier this week, I had such a great experience. A woman came into the hospital, in labor, actually carrying a copy of the book. My book. I said hello to her and she looked at me with a funny expression and as I looked back at her, it clicked. We had a really nice moment where I was able to express my gratitude for her finding the book to be something she wanted to have so close with her. It felt really, really good.
