  • 100 Hospital Tour – “Positive Pregnancy, Positive Birth”

    Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

It’s Tuesday already. I feel like I missed all of last week. It simply got away from me. Parents certainly understand how days and weeks can disappear and children do keep us quite aware of how quickly time passes.

On Mother’s Day I had the pleasure of being part of Childhood Matters – Nurse Rona Renner’s Book Club where she featured “The Joy of Pregnancy”. I was on with Natalie Berbick, the program manager for Brighter Beginnings.

  • A Very Happy Mother’s Day

    Sunday, May 9th, 2010

Long ago, my own mother and I developed a tradition; I no longer remember who started it. The winters in the Midwest can be brutal, but in spring, the world comes back to life. May apples, trilliums, crocuses, and violets are the first flowers to appear.

  • A Good Read, Life and Childbirth

    Monday, May 3rd, 2010

I have no particular idea why I like to write on airplanes more than other places. I have to assume it is because it is a spot where I am actually seated, without the ability to move and I have the blissful experience of privacy thanks to the luxurious purchase of a Bose headset some years ago.

  • Music Lessons – The Parenting Dilemma

    Friday, April 16th, 2010

I have a half a dozen topics that I want to talk about but they each involve using my brain. My brain is still infusing with coffee and so far the synapses have not begun firing. So, instead I’ll mention a parenting matter. Music classes.

  • MomTalk Radio Easter Program

    Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

I forgot to mention that I was recently a guest on Mom Talk Radio. It was an Easter show that we did well before Easter. The host, Maria Bailey wanted to be sure that I didn’t mention Easter in the future tense.

You can listen to it here – it starts mid-way through the broadcast and is about 5 minutes long. She was friendly and it was good interview — we talked about her children, expectations and what concerns women most often have.

  • Spring Was Almost Here

    Monday, April 12th, 2010

Today is the first day after Spring break. Alexander came down with the “I really don’t want to go back to school, so I must be sick” flu. He knew he wasn’t going to get very far with it so he gave it only a feeble try.
